So far, PhD and PostDoc projects in the fields of child and youth media research can mainly be found on the websites of the supervising professors and the institutes where they work. This makes it just as difficult to generate an overview of the research landscape in terms of qualification work as it is to determine research desiderata – not to mention the networking of projects and those planning to do so.
In the future, a database on the Internet portal KinderundJugendmedien.de will enable the latter points: The database is supposed to present current and past research projects in combination with a search function, which will allow finding specific projects using descriptors such as keywords, which are stored as metadata. In this way, for example, all works on picture books or on post-colonial approaches can be displayed.
Such a project can only be realized with your help: It needs professors who inform their doctoral and post-doctoral students about this project – and it needs doctoral and post-doctoral students who send us their projects for publication.
For this publication, please send your scientific or didactic projects on children's and youth media with the following data to
- first and last name,
- e-mail address,
- biography blurb (max. 150 words),
- link to further information (optional),
- title,
- university,
- abstracts (each max. 500 words) in German and English,
- keywords (max. 5) and
- period (optional).
The project entries can be continuously updated by the contributors. The database should go online with the first entries in the next few months.
